Folke was born to a privateer and his wife in Menthil years years before the first orc set foot in Azeroth. As he reached adulthood, he followed the footsteps of his father and became a deckhand a privateer ship employed to ensure the security of merchant convoys. Folke played no part in hte first coming of the orcs, as he was selfish and cared not for the matters of the men of the south. After Stormwind's defeat, Folke's ship became hired to aid in the defense of Lordaeron against the northward moving tides of darkness. This was a turning point in Folke's life, as before this he had never been exposed to such savagery (all one had to do to defend against most pirates was show that a few cannon where on board and the attackers would flee, not so with the Horde). The horrific war left his soul deeply scarred, a wound that was only healed once he came in contact with the Light around the time of the third war. Abandoning his weak ties with the old dwarven gods, Folke became a zealous follower of the Light. When Folke discovered the Scarlet Crusade, it was a perfect fit. The dwarf devoured their propaganda, becoming fanatically passionate about using "righteous fire to purge the demonic back to the twisting nether", and thus earned the nickname "Ardent". Because of his zeal, he was detached with a small group to Storwind to recruit for the Crusade. His group was a growing beacon until the leadership of the group deserted the cause, leaving Folke and a handful of others to themselves. Knowing the Crusade feelings towards deserters, Folke decided not to return lest he risk execution because of his association with the cowards. Instead, he has remained in Stormwind, attempting to further the Crusades goals through his own hand. Folke retains many of the extremist and racist ideals of the Crusade. He seldom drinks so that his thoughts are unclouded and undistracted from his goals(something highly unusual for a dwarf), though if he does it's most always in excess. He has never taken a wife or raised a family, nor does he plan to. Folke wills to remain ardent in his commitment to purging the dark with the Light.
