The 3rd Animated Installment of "Shadow Child"

Let me first say how incredibly entertaining animating is. It's officially completely taken over my WoW play time. I now pretty much only log on to take screen shots and clip grabs for scenes. So all those plans I had to gear up full epic have taken a back seat for a while.

This installment is really my first time animating. The last two parts were all preset WoW motions stitched together. For this one I took some time to learn Blender (which is a freeware 3D animating program), so for many of the scenes I actually did the rigging and customized Liy's motions. The smile at 0:37, for example, was my first time doing this.

I'm pretty happy with this one, and I fully intend to do Part 4. But that's going to take a lot longer than the last 3, because Part 4 in Liyil's story (actually, it's mostly in part 5) can look really cool if it's done with care. It will look shitty otherwise.

Yeah, I guess there is a story there. It never even occurred to me that Liy has a lot of intersection with with the Sentinel guard. That would be really interesting to develop a little further. Thanks for pointing that out!

I do miss Azeroth and my guildies . I'm sure I'll get tired of all this animating stuff eventually and start playing regularly again. In the meantime, see you all next time I log in to grab a screen shot!
